Purple Dragon
                    Mah Jongg Club

Fort Myers, Florida
Established 2002
It is with saddened hearts, and great regret that we inform you of my mother, MariAnne Albano’s passing. We are currently tying up loose ends and making plans for the future of the Purple Dragon. We are currently closed and plan to reopen at a later date.

If you have paid in advance for day tournaments, a refund has been issued. If you purchased Mah Jongg cards, they have been ordered and will be sent to you directly.

At my mom's request there is no formal service planned. However, we do plan to have a celebration of life at a later date and we will share the information.

The Purple Dragon has been a huge part of my mom’s life for the last 17 years and I know she appreciated everyone’s support and friendship over the years.

I want to thank you for your continued support and understanding as we go through this difficult time.

The Purple Dragon Mah Jongg Club

Many people ask . . . how did the Purple Dragon got started ?

After  moving to Fort Myers in 1997, I was looking for people who played Mah Jongg. Most had not heard of the Game but wanted to learn; so I began teaching.
Then, I wanted to find a Home for Mah Jongg!

In 2002 the Purple Dragon was established on McGregor Blvd in Fort Myers, Florida

As we celebrate our 17th year, I invite you to join us  for one of our Mah Jongg Tournaments or a Fun day playing Mah Jongg at the Purple Dragon!

BLESSINGS IN A BACKPACK HELPS PREVENT HUNGER

The “Blessings in a Backpack” program steps-up where federal aid stops by feeding children on the weekend. Every Friday afternoon, children receive backpacks filled with kid-friendly, ready-to-eat items. Students return every Monday morning with an empty backpack, a full stomach, and an eager mind. In the schools we work with in Lee and Collier County, test scores, reading skills, positive behavior, general health, and attendance have improved dramatically. This happens when children get the nourishment they need.
